Believe...
The name ‘Believe’ was chosen for the service due to the life-changing effects just simply believing in yourself can have. This is particularly true for teenagers, who are coming up against all sorts of challenges in life and whose self-esteem and confidence can be exceptionally vulnerable. At the core of the work we do at Believe, is teenagers being encouraged and helped to build a self-secure inner world, trusting in themselves, finding their true identity, knowing and believing that they are good enough. This in turn leads to strength, bravery, resilience, and good relationships.

Play Therapy
Play therapy is a form of psychotherapy primarily used with children. It leverages the therapeutic powers of play to help children express their feelings, explore their experiences, and make sense of difficult life events. The central idea is that play is a natural medium of communication for children, enabling them to express themselves more easily than they might through words alone.
Play therapy can be effective for children experiencing a variety of issues, including behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, family conflicts, grief, and trauma.
Teenage Coaching
We offer tailored coaching programs to empower teenagers to navigate the complexities of adolescence, build confidence, and make positive life choices. The teenager's perception of their worth is at the core of coaching here, and this is influenced hugely by the way they speak to themselves. Tackling the harsh inner critic and replacing it with a compassionate voice helps teenagers to develop their self-regulation skills as well as building their self-esteem. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is used to identify negative thought patterns, replacing them with positive, affirming thoughts.
Coaching at Believe is a strengths-based approach, helping the teen to identify their positive qualities and areas of strength, alongside goal-setting, planning, and goal-achievement.
High Performance Sports Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy, including approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), can be incredibly useful in sports. Athletes face various psychological challenges, such as performance anxiety, pressure to succeed, coping with injuries, and maintaining motivation. Psychotherapy can help athletes address these issues by providing strategies to manage stress, build confidence, set goals, and enhance focus and concentration. Additionally, it can assist in improving communication and teamwork skills, which are crucial in many sports. Overall, psychotherapy can contribute to the mental resilience and well-being of athletes, ultimately supporting their performance on and off the field.
